. . . you and your head are cordially invited . . . [DESCRIPTION BY UNCLE RICKY - CONTRIBUTED and RESTORED BY ROB FRANKEL] There's nothing much "Top 40" about this late-night, restored aircheck of Gus Gossert. In fact, in the parlance of the era, it's an excellent example of something your college buddies would have used as background when they "twisted up a fat one". There's lots of LP cuts, a scarce few singles, a few of those very original WCBS-FM jingles, and the very, VERY cool Mr. Gossert, who seems to be enjoying his job. Thanks to Matt Seinberg of Big Apple Airchecks for the original aircheck. Duplication and/or distribution is a violation of our Terms Of Service. . . . basically to symbolize the simplicity and the flowingness . . . [DESCRIPTION BY UNCLE RICKY - CONTRIBUTED and RESTORED BY ROB FRANKEL] Gus Gossert actually includes classical and jazz guitar musical selections in this second part of his show from WCBS-FM on May 12, 1970. Once again, Top 40 is scarce and the eclecticism runneth over. So, as Gus says, "sit down and kinda close your eyes, like you were half-stoned, or somethin'", and you'll be in the groove. Great stereo, and with the exception of a pair of rare selections, flawlessly restored by contributor Rob Frankel. Thanks to Matt Seinberg of Big Apple Airchecks for the original aircheck.
