This is the first of the Dick Clark American Bandstand 30th Anniversary reels donated to REELRADIO by Pete Battistini. This program was produced to promote the ABC-TV Special presented on October 30, 1981.

Part One of this radio special offers ample evidence of the outstanding production quality. Former KFWB Good Guy Gene Weed is our host between music, excerpts from early telecasts, and first-person reflections from Dick Clark.

Clark talks about how he got into radio at 13 years of age, how he got into TV, how American Bandstand grew into a national phenomenon.

Part Two will be featured for our August 4th issue, and Part Three will be featured for our November 24th Issue.

Gene Weed is our host, and Part Two of this radio special includes more first-person reflections from Dick Clark, and guests Dion DiMucci, Brian Wilson, Neil Sedaka, Freddy Cannon and a telephone conversation with Elvis Presley.

Clark talks about how he participated in the naming and production of classic Rock 'n' Roll hits.
