Our thanks to Jerry Clegg, for yet another Golden Gift. Jerry has also contributed our Thoms Stations exhibit, and there are still more Jerry Clegg Golden Gifts to come. |
TOP STREAM 44.1Kbps (KHz) TM Productions Winning Score Demo, 1977 (16:17)
[Description by Uncle Ricky] The Winning Score is identified on this demo as "the largest radio promotion project ever undertaken". Certainly, it was one of the highest quality jingle demos produced during the golden age of regulated Top 40 radio. And, for jingle trivia buffs - there are differences between the Winning Score demo on tape and the TM Today and Tomorrow Radio LP. The vinyl demo is still on the site on our G2 test page, but this tape demo is different. Over the years, this demo (in both forms) has been contributed more than once, by different friends of REELRADIO. Jerry Clegg gets the credit for this exhibit for contributing the original REEL, not a copy but the reel deal, as distributed by TM back in the day. Thank you, Jerry!

TOP STREAM 44.1Kbps (16Hz) TM Productions Philosophy Of Winning Score, 1977 (13:24) . . . We feel that everyone who listens to this tape will come away with a fresh perspective on contemporary programming . . . [Description by Uncle Ricky]
Short portions of this "roundtable discussion" are included on Produced as a supplement to the jingle demo, it's narrated by Bob McGruder, and begins with this introduction: "This tape features Charlie Van Dyke and Jim Long, plus Programming Consultant Glenn Powers, and TM Sales Representative and former air personality Jay Stohler. They discuss the state of contemporary radio programming, and methods for improving format flow, and increasing the variety, entertainment and effectiveness that today's radio so often lacks. For old folks, it's a reminder of how knowledge was never as important as money. Even if you understood all the benefits of owning this fabulous jingle package, there were hundreds of stations that simply couldn't afford it.
